Pluviophile

I love the sound it makes.

The sound of it crashing against the windows

and flowing down tree leaves.

I love the gifts it brings.

Though it brings thunder and lightning,

it also brings life to those growing underneath.

I love the calm it gives.

The hard labors of the day are washed away,

along with any resentment towards the sun.

I love the sadness I feel.

The pit inside of me that was about to swallow me whole

is washed away down the drains.

The cold is more warm than any blanket, and

the droplets are more intoxicating than any liquor.

Drown out the world and all the lies it brings.

Rain, it soothes me.
